CONCLUSION

Hear, O virtuous [one], this final counsel, and be happy in both lives. With a willing love, render unto the Creator that which is worthy of His greatness. Be not a companion unto the ill-mannered, but [walk] with the prudent and the modest. Grow not proud on account of the talent which thou hast possessed from nature from the very beginning. Adapt thyself unto the judgment of [thy] companion, that the covenant of love may remain uncorrupted. Give place unto the words of an adversary, sometimes relinquishing thine own rights. Consider beforehand the circumstances of a matter, and only then set [thy] hand to the execution thereof. Incline thine ear unto the words which are spoken unto thee, lest [perchance] thou find profit in them. Never display, beyond [due] measure, deep knowledge and subtle genius. Speak not with any person of matters which are higher than his capacity. Be truthful in every respect, so that thy words may be accepted without an oath. Promise nothing imprudently in [thy] mind; deny not thy promise, [but] remain faithful.
