"...both a creature and younger, and brought into being after time; who, according to his deserts, this impious Arius received his destruction amidst abominable [circumstances]" (in *History*, Book II, Section 89). And at the holy ecumenical Council of Kostandnupolitsʻ, the error of the most evil Makedon was condemned, and he himself and his followers were anathematized. Concerning his most wicked error, our aforementioned holy vardapet also writeth: "Until the faith of truth was confirmed regarding the blasphemies of the impious Makedon; for he did not confess the Holy Spirit [to be] Lord, nor adorable, nor to be glorified with the Father and with the Son, but alien to the nature of God, and created, and a servant, and a minister—a certain influence, and not a personal essence. And the holy Fathers having assembled in the royal city of Biwzandion . . . together one hundred and fifty Fathers, who, having anathematized, cast out Makedon and all the Pneumatomachi" (in *History*, Book III, Section 37). And at the ecumenical Council of Epʻesos, the perniciously evil sectarian Nestor was condemned, concerning whose most impious error our same Father of Poets writeth again: "Around that time, having unworthily succeeded to the Episcopal See of the Biwzandians, the impious Nestor arose, and following Jewish notions, blasphemously asserted the most holy Virgin to be the bearer of man (*Mardatsin*), and not the Bearer of God (*Astuatsatsin*). For [he said] that the one born of her had a beginning, claiming one son by grace from Mariam, and another Son from the Father before all eternity, so that there were two sons, whereby the Trinity would become a Quaternity. Wherefore, the holy Fathers having assembled in Asia, in maritime Epʻesos, by written citation . . . altogether two hundred Fathers, having anathematized Nestor, confessed our Lord Yisus Kʻristos to be the one Son of God, and the all-holy Virgin Mariam to be the Bearer of God" (in *History*, Book III, Section 61). And at the Council of Kʻaghkedon, the pestilent-minded Ewtikʻēs was rightfully anathematized; who preached and with grievous error babbled that our Lord Yisus Kʻristos is not consubstantial with us according to the flesh, but that His body is from heaven; and that before the union there were two natures in Kʻristos, but after the union, one only, according to the writing of Liberatus the Deacon (in *Breviarium*, 11).
