մինչևի շլինքը, կամ` գոնէ մինչևի ծնկները տաք ջրումը դը- նելը շատ օգտակար է: Զ. Երբ կենդանութեան նշաններ երևան, պէտք է օդ փչել բերանումը էս տեսակ. մէկ ուժով մարդ պէտք է խեղդածի քթի պնչերքը պինդ բռնէ, իրան բերանը դնէ նո- րա բերանի վերայ և սաստիկ փչէ մէքանի անգամ` . կամ` պէտք է եղէգնով (ղամիշ) խեղդածի բերանումը օդ փչէ: Էս- պէս պէտք է կրկնեն, ժամանակ ժամանակ միջոց տալով, միայն զգուշանալու է, որ շնչափողումը օդ ներս չգնայ: Տաքացրած շալի կտորով տրորելը պէտք է շարունակեն առանց միջոց տա- լու սկիզբից մինչևի կենդանութեան նշաններու Հաստատ ե- րևալը. տաք անկողնումը պառկած պիտի թողնեն, որ չ'մրսացնեն: Է. Եթէ խեղդածը յետ գայ և կարողանայ բան կուլ տալ, պէտք է տան քիչ քիչ տաք չայ, պատրաստած կակղւոյ, կամ` թանթրվենւոյ ծաղիկով, մէջը փոքր արաղ, կամ` գինի խառ- նած. նմանապէս քիչ քիչ խմացնեն տաք խաշու, Հաւի, կամ` վառեկի, կամ` լաւ ոչխարի մսով եփած, միայն մինչևի ինքը չ'կարենայ կուլ տալ, չ'պէտք է ուժով բերանը ածել: Յետոյ պէտք է դրեխ (տե՛ս Համար 20 , կամ` ձէթ քսած սապոն ետքիցը վեր առնել տան: 42. ...placing [the patient] in warm water up to the neck, or at least up to the knees, is very beneficial. VI. When signs of life appear, one must blow air into the mouth in this manner: a strong person must hold the drowned person’s nostrils tightly, place his own mouth over his mouth, and blow forcefully several times; or, one must blow air into the drowned person’s mouth with a reed (*ghamish*). This must be repeated, allowing an interval from time to time; only, one must take care that the air does not pass into the gullet. Rubbing with a warmed piece of woolen shawl must be continued without interruption from the beginning until the signs of life appear definitely; they must leave him lying in a warm bed, so that he does not catch cold. VII. If the drowned person recovers and is able to swallow something, they must give him little by little warm tea, prepared with mallow or elder flowers, with a little *aragh* [spirits] or wine mixed in; likewise, let them have him drink little by little warm broth, cooked with chicken, or pullet, or good mutton, only until he is able to swallow of his own accord; one must not pour it forcefully into the mouth. Afterwards, they must administer a clyster (see Number 20), or an oiled soap [suppository] from behind. 42. If the drowning should occur during winter days, and he is frozen in the water, at that time they must proceed as is stated in the third part and the forty-fifth article. 43. All the above-mentioned remedies and expedients must be applied continuously and with devotion; one must not cease from rendering aid for up to ten hours, until he either recovers completely, or the distinct signs of death come to light. There are examples where one drowned for twelve hours has recovered. 44. If it does not succeed to revive the drowned person with the above-mentioned remedies, they must lay his whole body up to the neck in warm horse manure, leaving only the face exposed; or in warm ashes, or in warm bran, and leave him thus for up to two or three hours.
