Take pounded chamomile flower, angelica, or maidenhair [fern], two *mskhal*s each; cinchona bark, three *mskhal*s; good honey, as much as is needed. Mix together, make an electuary, and give [it] to the sick person four times a day, the size of a jujube each [time], or one teaspoonful each [time].

Number 19.

Take one handful of crushed barley, put [it] into an earthen vessel, and pour over it one *ch’arek’* of water; boil [it] well, then strain [it], and mix into it three spoons of oxymel (*sek’anjabin*) (see number 25); and give [it] to the sick person to drink in place of water.

Number 21.

Take half a handful of chamomile flowers, three *mskhal*s of grated common clean soap, [and] half a *mskhal* of crushed salt; mix [them] together, pour [them] into a clean vessel, and pour three cups of water over it. Give [it] one boil, then strain [it], and mix into it three spoonfuls of flaxseed oil, and thus administer [it as] an enema.

Number 18:

...half a *chʻarēkʻ*. Give [it] one boil and strain [it] through a cloth. Sweeten [it] with sugar or honey, and give [it] to the patient to drink four times a day, two spoonfuls at a time, until [the patient] recovers.

HEAD: Number 19:

Take hemp or watermelon seed, eight *mskhal*s, or sweet almond, ten *mskhal*s; pound [them] well, and while pounding, pour in cold water little by little, three cups. After straining, mix into this milk of seeds half a *mskhal* of saltpeter [*shnch-borak*] and one spoonful of good honey. Give [the patient] to drink one spoonful at a time, once an hour, until the fever cools down.

Number 21.

Take four cupfuls [of] hot water, half a spoon [of] pounded salt, four spoons [of] linseed oil, mix [them] together, and give an enema to the sick [person].*

Take four cups [*vənjan*] of warm water, half a spoon of crushed salt, [and] four spoons of flaxseed oil; mix together and administer [as] an enema to the sick person.*

NOTE: * The clyster must be administered with a special instrument made of pewter, or [else] they should tie a pipe (tube) or reed—the tip smoothed [down]—to the neck of an ox bladder, and administer it in that manner; but care must be taken that the medicine for giving the clyster be neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm.
