...my arms set forth in pursuit of the printing of this desirable and necessary book, which, by the mercy of God, after many difficulties and arduous labors, I was barely able to bring to light and dedicate to my honorable nation for their spiritual recreation and consolation; striving, to the extent of my ability, to execute everything in an elegant and faultless manner, and to bring it to completion through attentive oversight and collation with previous copies, strictly following the *Tōnacʿoycʿ* (Directory/Lectionary). Those who have personally experienced the manifold difficulties and tribulations of the work of printing—they alone are able to know and testify to the kind of grief and afflictions I endured in the course of my printing this ecclesiastical book, being all alone and bereft of the assistance of collaborators. Alongside this book, I also had under press six *Žamagirkʿ* (Book of Hours) in various formats and on diverse kinds of paper, the booklet entitled *Patarag* (Divine Liturgy), the pocket *Awetaran* (Gospel), and the First Day of *Awag Šabattʿ* (Holy Week). Where shall we leave even this [fact]: that here, in the land of India, the workers of the printing house—that is to say, the typesetters, inkers, pressmen, bookbinders, and others—are Indians, by religion id[olatrous]...
