Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord throughout my life; I will sing psalms to my God as long as I exist. Do not put your trust in princes, nor in the sons of men, for there is no salvation in them. Their spirit shall depart from them, and they shall return again to the earth; on that day all their thoughts shall perish. Blessed is the nation whose helper is the Lord God of Jacob, and whose hope is in the Lord God; Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, and executes justice for the wronged; [Who] gives bread to the hungry; the Lord releases those who are bound.
