Praise God with thanksgiving; sing psalms to him with praise. [He] who clothed the heavens with clouds, and prepared his rain for the earth; Who made grass grow upon the mountains, and green herbs for the service of mankind; Who gives food to the beasts, [and] to the young ravens that cry unto him. The Lord takes not pleasure in the strength of a horse, nor does he delight in the legs of a giant man; Rather, the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, and in those who hope in his mercy.

May the thanksgivings of those who fear your name be sweet to you, O Christ, whom you have filled with hope by your mercy toward the mysteries of your life-bearing coming. PSALM Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem, and bless your God, O Zion. For he has strengthened the bars of your gates, and has blessed your children within you.
