Send, Lord, the angel of your peace, who coming shall keep us untroubled by day and by night. And in your love for mankind, remember us, Lord; remember us when you come in your kingdom, and have mercy on us.

Having come to the confession of repentance, let us place in our hearts with faith the hope of the only-begotten Son of God, asking of him expiation and forgiveness for our transgressions. For he himself is God, the eternal provider, who came by the will of the Father to save creation, and said that he is the expiator of sinners, the hope of penitents, granting rest to the weary, [and] receiving those burdened and afflicted with sins into the repentance of expiation. Come, therefore, all of us with humbled souls and contrite hearts, let us fall down and weep before the Lord our Creator, that he may, through his benevolence, avert from us the fury of punishment for our transgressions. Almighty Lord our God, save and have mercy.
