Through the Virgin, the former mother Eve—by whom old Adam incurred guilt—the sorrowful curses were lifted by your holy birthgiving, O Virgin Mary; beseech your Only-Begotten to forgive the sins of their children. *In whom we have been blessed...* [Refrain] Bride offered from earth to heaven, unto whom we lift up our spirits: on the day when you heard the good tidings, intercede that we too may hear the voice of the good tidings of your Only-Begotten: “Come, you blessed of my Father.” *In whom we, earthborn races, have been blessed: give praise to the fruit of the Virgin.* With a [suppliant] voice we entreat You, O Lord, and fall down before You: through the intercessions of the *Astowacacin* (Theotokos / Mother of God), extinguish from us the flame of the furnace; grant [us] to wipe away our sins with tears and to renew us anew. *In whom we have been blessed...* [Refrain] Skilful Helmsman, You traversed the trackless sea of this life: lift us up, together with Peter, from the waves of this sea of sins, through the supplications of the most sublime, incorruptible One who gave You birth. *In whom we, earthborn races, have been blessed: give praise to the fruit of the Virgin.*
