O [He Who] is of created beings! Whence also unto us [is] firm hope through the rest of the Sabbath: that [if we] work here the works of God, there we [shall] truly rest with God. Masterfully are we taught, instructed by the example of the Lord, Who, in the second creation, after the fulfillment of the economy [of salvation], on the seventh day of rest, having descended with the body into the tomb, brought up the bound spirits [and] prepared the unending rest. May the dew that distilled from Your side heal the departed; may it descend into the dust of their death and make [them] spring forth on the last day. By Your life-giving voice, call them into Your life, and rank [them] with the righteous to sing glory to You with the heavenly hosts (*zowartʿunkʿ* [the vigilant/wakeful angels]). Having wasted our life-possessing nature, transgression returned [it] to the dust of death; but the death of You, the Immortal One, granted immortality once more. Those who are buried with You by death through the baptism of the font, raise up with You in Your glory, in light like unto the sun.
