[Wednesday.] The formless and primordial darkness was dispelled on the first day. That radiant light, on the fourth day, was gathered into the substance of the sun; the moon was created in the likeness of light, and the choirs of the stars were fashioned, whereby the Creator of [all] beings is praised by rational ministers. The hidden mystery was made known in the fourth age through Isaac; [and] on the fourth day, again, the angel gave the virginal annunciation: that the Light which cannot be contained is contained in the flesh from thee. [O ye] earth-born nations who have been blessed therein, give blessing to the fruit of the Virgin!
