Against You only have I sinned, [O] Lord, and done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and prevail when You judge. For in iniquity [was I] conceived, and in sins did my mother give birth to me. You, [O] Lord, loved truth; the obscure and hidden things You revealed to me by Your wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash [me], and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear exultation and gladness, and my afflicted bones shall rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins, and expiate all my iniquities from me. Create a clean heart in me, O God, and renew an upright spirit within my innermost parts. Cast me not away, [O] Lord, from Your presence, and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the exultation of Your salvation, and uphold me with a guiding spirit. I will teach Your ways to the lawless, and the impious shall return to You. Deliver me from blood[guilt], O God, God of my salvation, [and] my tongue shall exult in Your righteousness.
