[We] say with the Prodigal: "Father, I have sinned against You [and] against heaven." Incomprehensible to the heavenly [hosts], You became visible to humankind; You clothed Yourself in the form of the earthly [man], O immutable image of the Father. You ascended the Cross at the third hour for the sake of Adam, the first-created; together with the thief crucified beside You, make us worthy of Paradise. King of kings, bountifully flowing Spirit of graces: to the twelve apostles gathered in the upper room, You appeared in tongues of fire [and] rested upon their souls. Hear us who are gathered in Your name; descend also upon us at this third hour.

At all times my supplications are these: cleanse me from my sins, O Lord, and preserve Your servant from the stranger, O Lord, Lover of mankind.

RUBRIC: Again in peace let us beseech the Lord. Receive, save, and have mercy.
