[... and make] him [blessed] upon the earth, and not deliver him into the hands of his enemies. The Lord is his helper upon his bed of pain, and alters all his bedding in his illness. I said: "Lord, have mercy on me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You." He who dwells in the help of the Most High shall rest under the shadow of the God of heaven. He shall say to the Lord: "You are my protector, God is my refuge, and I hope in Him." He shall deliver me from the snare of the hunter, and from the word of trouble. He shall receive you upon His shoulders; under the shadow of His wings you shall hope. His truth shall surround you like armor. You shall not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day; nor the thing that stalks in darkness, nor the stumbling-block of the demon at noonday. A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousands at your right hand, and unto you it shall not come near. But only with your eyes shall you look and see the recompense of sinners; for You, Lord, are my hope.
