... [the] Lord to deliver us from man-worshiping blasphemy, so that we too may celebrate your memory, asking from Christ reconciliation and great mercy. Just as after Hezekiah, the God-loving king of Israel, He raised up Josiah, who cast away all the idolatries of the ancient people, so also in the new [covenant] He raised up the firstborn of kings, the pious Abgar, who from afar recognized the heavenly King, Christ, and became a preacher of His divinity unto the ends of the universe; [and] after him, also the great Tiridates, who utterly banished demon-crazed idolatry from the land of Armenia and adorned [it] with the true and orthodox faith. Now, O God-chosen and pious holy king, intercede with the Lord to deliver us from lawless tyrants, so that we too, celebrating your memory, may ask from Christ peace and great mercy.
