[Of the] Archangels

By the mercy of the Lord the earth was filled, and by the Word of the Lord the heavens were established, and by the Spirit of his mouth all their hosts.

And you, child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High; [for] you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways.

John the Forerunner, awestruck, worshipped from womb to womb; he became a minister of the Word of God, and hearing the awesome voice, he cried aloud, saying: "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin from the world."

In the assemblies bless God, and the Lord from the fountains of Israel.

[Of the] Apostles

You shall appoint them rulers over all the earth, and your name shall be remembered throughout all generations of generations.
