PRAYER

Beneficent Lord, who through your great compassion prepared eternal rest for those who have labored in virtue, and called to yourself with a sweet voice those who are heavy-laden and burdened with sins, promising them rest: Grant also to us, Lord, to pass this night in undisturbed peace; and [as we are] burdened by the weight of sins, keep [us] secure by your mercy, and make [us] worthy of everlasting rest with all your saints. And giving thanks, we shall glorify you, with the Father and your all-holy Spirit, now and always and [unto the ages of ages. Amen.]

Peace unto all.

Giver of good [gifts] and fountain of peace, Lord our God: calm our minds and our thoughts from all satanic disturbances in this night and at all times; so that, guided through this transitory life, we may arrive at Your eternal heavenly kingdom, which You prepared from the foundation of the world for Your saints. And together with them, giving thanks, may we glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and always and unto the ages of ages. [Amen.]
