Guardians of the world, hosts of the Lord [encamped] around those who fear Him, friends of the human race, mediators of death and resurrection: great Michael and Gabriel, who stand ever before the All-Holy Trinity; we beseech you, intercede before the Lord for the expiation of our sins.

[Tuesday]. Heavenly Bridegroom, unshadowed intelligible Light, who descended from heaven out of love for Your bride, the Church, whom Your friend and best man John betrothed to You; through his supplications, have mercy [upon us]. Incomprehensible to the four-faced [creatures] and unseen by the Seraphim, Holy of holies and Lord of all, You humbled Yourself at the Jordan, seeking from the servant the purification of water to wash away the sins of Adam; through his supplications, have mercy on us.
