Let not the foot of the proud come against us, and let not the hand of sinners make us tremble. There have fallen all who work iniquity; they are cast out and shall not be able to stand. I have hoped in the Lord; I will rejoice and be glad in God my Savior. The Lord, the Lord gave me strength, and set my feet in firmness; he set me upon the neck of the enemy, and made me to rest swiftly. He who dwells in the help of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the God of heaven. He shall say to the Lord, “You are my protector, my refuge is God, and I hope in him.” For he shall deliver me from the snare of the hunter, and from the word of turmoil. He shall receive you between his shoulders; under the shadow of his wings you shall trust. His truth shall encompass you like a shield. You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; Of the thing that walks in darkness, [nor] of the stumbling block of the demon at midday. A thousand shall fall at your side, and [ten thousand at your right hand]
