RUBRIC: And the Priest makes the sign of the cross over the people with the chalice and turns to the holy altar, and they draw the curtain. And the Deacon proclaims:

[Deacon]: Sing a psalm to the Lord our God, [ye] clerks, with a sweet voice, spiritual songs. For unto Him are befitting psalms and blessings, alleluias and spiritual songs. Ye ministers, with songs sing a psalm, and bless the Lord in the heavens.

And the clerks chant:

4. Christ, sacrificed, is distributed among us. Alleluia. He gives us His Body [as] food, and He sprinkles His holy Blood upon us. Alleluia. Draw near to the Lord and receive the light. Alleluia.
